Description:

BLACK TORTUGA – There are many reasons to charter this beautifully decorated, rakish-looking, modern, 47’ Fountain Pajot catamaran, built in 2018, which sleeps eight guests in four air conditioned Queen, equal cabins, each with views of the cruising ground and private ensuite bathroom with stall shower.  Captain Brian Christiansen from Utah is a one-time, professional photographer for National Geographic, who enjoys making videos for guests.  As well, both he and his wife, Elena, the chef, are dive instructors; they dive with guests and offer novices the Resort course for $125 and certified divers night diving with lights, as well as diving by day….  They also always snorkel with their guests, showing them the fish, showing them the lights, guiding their guests on snorkel excursions.  Brian worked as a naturalist on boats and knows the history of the islands and a lot about birds and nature, and as you cruise, he delights in telling stories of how the birds dive down on the fish, and how bats live when they come out at night.  Despite being active and interested in activities ashore, Elena is also very proud of her cooking.  She makes everything from scratch – bread – hummus, baba ganoush; her saloon counters were a groaning board of hors d’oeurves while we were aboard – stuffed dates, chicken tenders, tiny little hamburgers, brownies, fruit skewers – plentiful and good. Guests requiring vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, or gluten free should also choose Elena; she’s well acquainted with special diets and knows what to prepare.  Brian and Elena also make a point of how nice it is to have a hydraulic platform off the aft end of the yacht for swimming, snorkeling and diving, and they offer Night Hookah diving too.  An interesting couple with many varied interests and talents, they compliment each other well and enjoy each other’s company.

The yacht charters for $18,000 to $21,000 weekly all inclusive for two to eight guests (rates slide according to number in party) year round from St  Thomas, except $26,000 weekly for Christmas or $29,000 weekly for New Years.  Gratuity is not included.
