Description:
This modern, 118′ motor yacht wth four guest cabins – master, VIP, and two convertible twins – was built in 2019 by famous, British designer Mulder and has lots of volume. A rakish looking, “awarded” yacht with modern interior, she is perfection. Her British captain Ian Jinks is assisted by five additional crew, mostly from the UK, who set a beautiful dining table, offer warm towels, make great cocktails and are hard-working, friendly and fun. Pretty stewardess Daniella says, “Ian loves to make cocktails – he’s social – he helps the deckhands, while we make up the cabins and serve breakfast.”
The sweet-looking main saloon has a white lounge aft with folksie baskets, wood stained walls, bar with stools,and offers dining forward. The table was beautifully set with tan napkins and white flowers, while we were aboard….. Silver chandeliers, modern furniture, silver decanters, coral sculptures create sparkle. Floor to celing windows let in lots of natural light on all four walls; the views are amazing. A balcony opposite the dining room drops down out of the wall, offering a cantilevered perch over the water, letting the breezes in. In blues and whites mostly, the saloon has white sofas, white carpets (soft to the touch), curtains and lamps – it’s beautiful. CALYPSO I uniquely features a “dolphin camera”, which can stream any guest appearances by dolphins live to the TV in the saloon.
Wood floors on the main deck lead forward past the dining saloon to the chef’s galley, where we meet Chef David Hayward from the UK, who is highly awarded.
We follow the wood floors past the pantry, and day head into the full beam master King cabin with sky light, windows, lounge on both sides of the cabin with couches, round bedside tables in white with colorful art in blue and orange with blue annd black batik pillows, sconses, leather cabinets, and a full beam bathroom with two stone sinks and a door to a companionway leading outside to the bow, letting in lots of fresh air. Bunny pads are available on the bow for sunbathing.
Below are two Twin cabins that convert to doubles, plus full beam VIP cabin with King with louvered stained teak walls and headboard, scones, couch, modern art, white gauze curtains, stone sinks – lovely.
The sun deck has a bubbling Jacuzzi for eight, sunbathing beds, rotating TV, bar with stools, and Captain Ian seizes the opportunity to come up to socialize and get to know his guests by making them drinks. There’s a large dining table around a U-shaped settee to port, cocktail lounge to starboard, teak decks, music, contemporary, modern, minimalist design – gorgeous! A hard top provides shade where needed…. The captain’s bridge is forward, down a few stairs, inside.
The beach club has a bar, two bikes, sea bobs, two jet skis, tender, garage access to engine room. The jetty has two room for two deck chairs, swimming ladder, and passerelle to the main aft deck with cocktail seating (and folding dining table.)
A perfect yacht for eight guests, early June 2020 she will be in the South of France, late June in Amalfi and mid July to August in beautiful Croatia! Available slots in the Western Med and Croatia….
