Description:
Based in Ibiza, where the yacht has a permanent berth at Marina Botafocin that’s included in the price, FIVE STARS is a 92′ speed boat. That is enormous! They call these single deck boats ‘open boats,’ – open sport boats, because they go extremely fast – 22 to 30 knots! Consuming around 850 litres of fuel per hour, they scream along! But it also gets to Palma, 170 miles distant, in just three hours. Even though the Mediterranean is flat, you’d want to buckle up your seat belts for a ride going 30 knots; at least, ride as though in a limo and stay put in your seat, watch a movie, sunbathe, listen to music. Walking, I imagine, would be a little difficult to get around, as on any yacht underway…. Still, it doesn’t FIVE STARs long to get anywhere.
FIVE STARS likes to do cruises just to Fomentara and back from Ibiza. Spanish captain Marcus advises that 30% APA covers fuel and halfboard to Ibiza and Fomentara and back; otherwise 35% covers halfboard, including Palma. Menorca is 100 miles beyond Palma, too far to visit, unless you want specifically to do so.
With five staterooms aboard, the idea is to dine out and visit night clubs. Then visit Fomentara and end back in Ibiza – Ibiza to Ibiza cruises, where FIVE STARS has a permanent berth at Marina Botafoc, included in the price, a huge savings, complimentary of the boat. A good berth, it has views of the old castle, close to all the night clubs…
The open concept saloon has retractable roof; steering forward; lounge and dining amidships. Bar aft. The crew of three sleep aft with the galley. The spacious aft deck offers sunbathing, and dining. The sunbathing mattress converts to a Tappanyaki grill on the aft deck. More sunbathing is forward on the coach roof.
The yacht sleeps ten guests in five staterooms, including a full beam master cabin with King, a single cabin with private bathroom, a twin cabin with folddown Pullman berth, a full beam VIP cabin forward in the bow, and a bunk bed cabin that shares a bathroom with the single cabin. The yacht works best for four to six adults plus two to three children. May I point out the beautiful maple and teak contrasting wood paneling in the yacht’s interior?
Spanish captain Marcus is assisted by a first mate who doubles as a stewardess, ad a chef who doubles as a stewardess. The yacht has a permanent crew of two, picking up a chef as needed for charter, but the idea is to dine out. The crew make up the beds in the morning and turn them down at night. They set out fresh towels each day; they make sure guests have food and drink to eat. They provide a nice service, and they launch the sports equipment as well. They have fun with guests.
The yacht charters for EUR 53,000 weekly in June and September; EUR 63,000 weekly during July and August – plus 30% APA + 21% Spanish VAT + Gratuity (10% is suggested).
Exciting Ibiza! September and October are good times to go!
