Description:
MAKIN’ MEMORIES – This popular, 45’ Lagoon catamaran with the trademark “Lagoon” windows in her coach roof, which rise vertically from the deck rather than at a slant as on other catamarans just had an enormous refit; all the linens and soft furnishings are new, and new photography is coming. Available year round from St.Thomas or Tortola, she charters for $14,000 to $15,500 weekly all inclusive for two to six guests (rates slide according to number in party), except $19,000 weekly for Christmas and $21,000 weekly for New Year.
She has three very pretty, air conditioned Queen, guest staterooms, each with private bathroom, and while the chef, Ellie was not aboard when I inspected the vessel in November, 2019, her captain Keith Allen was, and he did a wonderful job of making up the guest cabins and presenting a clean, sweet smelling yacht, and he told me all about Ellie. Full of energy, experienced in hospitality and the restaurant world, Ellie, he said, worked in Greece leading flotilla charters during the summer of 2019. ” Australian, she has a big personality; she is a great hostess, offering coffee and making people comfortable; young, she is well travelled and nice looking.”
Keith is nice-looking too. Dressed in gray shirt and black shorts and an outback straw hat, he grew up in Australia to British parents and is well traveled, but he has lived in the Caribbean for two years, sailing the yachting circuit from the Eastern Caribbean to Panama to Gibraltar. A keen kite surfer, scuba diver, and free diver, he says guests can bring or rent kiting gear; guests can bring or rent scuba gear – Keith is certified, and the yacht has a compressor aboard – and guests are allowed to dive from the ship. Keith will dive with you. An avid free diver, he says the yacht may be getting a subwing, and let’s request one, if the yacht doesn’t already have one, for I can think of no better yachtsman than Keith to sail with!
