MY CHERIE AMOUR – This beautifully appointed  and well-run, state-of-the-art, 2014-built, modern, 48’ Saline Fountain Pajot catamaran with many special features is offering two late June/early July 2020 pre-scheduled cruises through the Dominican Republic and Haiti, as she makes her way from the Spanish Virgin Islands to the Turks and Caicos this summer that sound very exciting! The owner will be selling the yacht after the charter season; so the journey to the Turks and Caicos is the Last Hurrah for any adventurous sailors, wanting to see this very special part of the Caribbean.  For divers, the yacht’s captain is a dive instructor and dives with guests and guests rent gear and pay extra but one of the stops this summer in Puerto Rico offers a fantastic dive that Captain Ben is thrilled to be sharing with guests, not to mention the fact that the Virgin Islands are a premier dive destination with some of the clearest water in the Eastern Caribbean, and MY CHERIE AMOUR is available from St. Thomas from now through June, 2020.  Ben and Hollie return for their second charter season in the Virgin Islands for winter 2019/2020, following a very successful first season of 14 charters booked; they are hoping to do 20 in 2020.  The yacht sails like a dream, they tell me, as they play Joni Mitchell on the ships stereo in the bright main saloon with windows all around, Hollie looking every bit like a model in hot pink pants, a mahogany skinned beauty, poised with hair piled on top of her head, immediately warm and engaging; guests feel relaxed in her company, and Ben adores her!  Their buffet board under the windows in the saloon was full of trays of fresh caught sushi; Ben is an energetic fisherman; he has a trolling fishing rod that doubles as a casting rod, perfect for bonefishing on Anegada’s reefs.  The yacht is colorful – from the beautiful plates and dishes on the beautifully set dining table in the cockpit with sunbathing cushions all around, shaded by the sailing fly bridge above to the three equal Queen guest cabins below, there are lots of pinks and turquoise colors around in the generous stacks of towels in the cockpit to the throw cushions and blankets in the guest cabins, all of which are air conditioned to keep the humidity at bay.  Ben sends taxis to meet guests at the airport; the free bar aboard is full of rum, Frangelica, Finlandia, Jack Daniels; there were offerings of water in the blue ‘soft-sided cups” – the cups can be squashed in your hands….  Ben and Hollie are aware hosts; Hollie got up from a conversation with me to help brokers get off the yacht, which impressed me…  We surely hope these two return  to the Virgin Islands during the Winter 2021/22 season, especially as Hollie’s attention to detail and ability to create beautiful displays rate right up with the best of crews, and young Ben is utterly charming.

Available from St. Thomas for just $15,000 to $16,000 a week all inclusive for two to six guests (rates slide according to number in party), a number of weeks in late February 2020 from St.Thomas are discounted, and the dates of the pre-scheduled cruises are discounted too: one runs from June 27-July 3 from St. Thomas to Puerto Rico and the other week is July 5 to 12, 2020 Puerto Rico to Turks and Caicos.  That is a cruise for sailors, but it is a rare opportunity to sail a different but very good part of the Caribbean, and the Turks and Caicos are beautiful.
