Jaco, captain aboard this luxury 67′ Fontaine Pajot sailing catamaran TRUE STORY is from South Africa, born and bred. He was in the navy; he ran commercial tankers for six years. He ran super yachts from Palm Beach and in the Mediterranean. He joined TRUE STORY 15 charters ago. He wears a floppy hat and is married to the chef Simone, who has a book on her menu aboard. They are assisted by a third crew, and they offer diving to certified divers. Both Jaco and Simone are dive masters and dive with guests. The yacht has ten sets of scuba aboard, 20 tanks, and 3 dives per guest is included in the charter fee. Guests must be certified divers to dive from the ship.
Two guest cabins are to port. One forms a lower twin that converts to a King. The master stateroom is aft with a couch and has a bed that facers windows in the hull. Two additional guest cabins are located to starboard – two Queens with windows in the hull, so you can see out from inside the cabin. The staterooms have lots of textured furs and crocheted pillows. They are beautiful cabins; the owner is a designer. The crew sleep aft off the cockpit.
The gorgeous deck saloon has gray couches with turquoise cushions that face a streamlined galley in white to port. An modern, streamlined island separates the two areas… There are lots of deck beds around the adjoining cockpit with dining capabilities, and the fly bridge has tons of bench seating; it’s a veritable second saloon with shade awning, coffee tables, wet bar, steering stations.
The bow with bean bags is where they displayed the yachts sports equipment during the charter show – wakeboard, stand up paddle boards, scuba gear, etc – and Jaco tells me the stargazing is amazing from there.
TRUE STORY will be available for charter from St. Vincent in the Grenadines this summer 2023 and hopes guests will join them there.
